I will admit one thing concerning AI, that it has uses as a quick reference or a lore tracker. In my current series of stories, I have many pages of notes, languages, cultures, fake histories, character names, etc. I have fed it all into one of the AI programs. It is a helpful review tool. I can feed my chapters into it, to review to make sure I haven't accidently used the wrong character nickname or location. Sometimes it doesn't catch mistakes, and they are things that only careful editing really catches. But for simple 'does this chapter fit with what I previously wrote about XXX', it can be a useful tool. The stories are still mine, the writing is still mine, and even the references are mine, but the program simply helps me manage them. That's all.
I agree with you. AI is a tool, great tool if it is used with brain turned on. Unfortunately the very nature of that tool provokes to use it without brain 😏
I think it doesn’t matter, if an article was polished with AI, structured with AI or even fully written with AI - if it provides a value to a reader, then it was worth the time. What provides no value to one person, makes a lot of sense for another person. So let people decide for themselves, for gods sake!
Also I’ve seen one author phrased it beautifully - now we will allow AI to decide if our writing is human enough? Nonsense 🤦🏻♀️

I think that’s a great way to use AI to assist and edit. I see nothing wrong with it.
